Modular Hawk Mews &
Professional Raptor Housing

This Product is a Game Changer...

(Patent #: 11,154,038)

Are you ready to replace the wooden mews you’ve been repairing and retrofitting for years? The Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews is a patented modular raptor housing system designed for falconers, raptor centers, rehabilitators, educators and other professionals who house birds of prey.

Constructed from aluminum composite panels, aluminum and steel, the Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews is designed to provide years of service without the rotting, warping and ongoing maintenance associated with traditional wooden mews. Its panelized construction also allows the Mews to be disassembled, relocated or expanded as your needs change.

Need another chamber in the future? Our modular design allows you to expand your existing Hawk Mews by adding additional wall panels and roofing rather than purchasing or constructing an entirely new structure.

Each Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews arrives in a custom shipping crate designed to protect the components during transit. Color-coded assembly instructions show how the panels connect using four bolt sets per connection. A standard Hawk Mews can be assembled by two people in approximately two hours and can be disassembled by one person in under an hour.

Raptor Housing for Falconers & Professional Facilities

The Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews is designed for more than traditional falconry. Our modular raptor housing can be configured for falconers, raptor rehabilitation centers, educational programs, universities, research facilities, wildlife organizations and other professionals who house birds of prey.

Unlike permanent site-built structures, our patented panelized system provides the flexibility to expand or reconfigure your raptor housing as your needs change. Start with a single Hawk Mews and add another chamber in the future, or combine multiple units to create a larger raptor housing facility.

Whether you are housing a single falconry bird, maintaining ambassador birds for an educational program, or developing a multi-chamber facility, we can help you select a Mews configuration that fits your raptors, your facility and your future plans.

Standard Features of the Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews

Aluminum Composite Skin

Our durable Aluminum Composite skin provides a smooth, easy-to-clean surface that won’t rot or warp like traditional wood construction. Each panel features thin aluminum sheets bonded to a durable core, creating a lightweight, weather-resistant surface that requires minimal maintenance. Simply wash the panels with soap and water or pressure wash as needed to keep your Hawk Mews looking its best.

Aluminum Roofing System with Steel Roof Panels

Our lightweight aluminum roof support system is engineered for exceptional strength and durability. Traditional steel roofing panels attach securely to the aluminum framework, creating a strong, weather-resistant roofing system. The roof system was evaluated by engineers and, in their words, is able to “hold a snow load of 12,000 lbs. conservatively.” The pitched roof directs rainwater toward the rear of the Hawk Mews, and every standard Mews includes a white steel roof.

Bath Pan Port Access

The built-in Bath Pan Port Access door allows you to clean, empty and refill your raptor's bath pan without opening the main Hawk Mews door. This convenient feature saves time during daily maintenance while minimizing disturbance to your raptor and reducing the need to enter the Mews.

Food Port Access

The built-in Food Port Access door allows you to feed your raptor without opening the main Hawk Mews door. The spring-loaded, inward-swinging door closes securely after use, and an interior feeding perch is positioned directly below the opening for convenient food placement. Mike’s raptors quickly learn the feeding routine and often move to the perch when they know it’s time to eat.

Sliding Door

Mike designed the Hawk Mews with a 4-foot-wide sliding door instead of a traditional hinged door to provide greater control when entering and exiting the Mews. The smooth-gliding door can be opened only as wide as needed for you to enter, reducing the amount of open doorway around you and the opportunity for your raptor to fly past. When fully opened, the generous 4-foot-wide entrance provides plenty of room to comfortably enter or exit while holding your raptor on the fist.

Vertical Bars

Vertical bars have long been used in traditional falconry mews to help protect a raptor’s feathers when it flies against the barred opening. Our standard Hawk Mews features 1/2-inch aluminum vertical bars spaced 2 1/2 inches on center, providing visibility and ventilation while maintaining a raptor-friendly design. For smaller raptors, we also offer an optional configuration with aluminum bars spaced 1 inch apart.

Built-in Weathering Area

Every Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews includes a 4-foot by 4-foot built-in weathering area constructed with 1" x 2" nylon-coated steel wire. This open-air section gives your raptor access to natural sunlight, fresh air and rain whenever it chooses, while still remaining inside the Mews. The integrated design eliminates the need to move your raptor outside and tether it to a separate weathering perch, saving time and reducing the risks associated with tethered outdoor weathering.

Window Panels and Solid Panels

The Mike Dupuy Hawk Mews combines Window Panels and Solid Panels to provide your raptor with both viewing opportunities and areas of privacy and shelter. Our standard configuration includes one solid wall, which Mike recommends positioning on the northwest side of the Mews for added protection from prevailing weather. The solid wall also provides the flexibility for future expansion—if you add another raptor, you can purchase a three-wall add-on and roofing system that connects to your existing Mews to create a second chamber.
